Local integrals of motion in quasiperiodic many-body localized systems

چکیده

Local integrals of motion play a central role in the understanding many-body localization quantum systems one dimension subject to random external potential, but question how these local change deterministic quasiperiodic potential is that has received significantly less attention. Here we develop powerful new implementation continuous unitary transform formalism and use this method directly compute both effective Hamiltonian for potential. We show interactions between retain strong fingerprint underlying exhibiting sharp features at distances associated with incommensurate wavelength used generate Furthermore, themselves may be expressed terms an operator expansion which allows us estimate critical strength required lead localization/delocalization transition, by means finite size scaling analysis.

Fast convergence of path integrals for many-body systems

We generalize a recently developed method for accelerated Monte Carlo calculation of path integrals to the physically relevant case of generic many-body systems. This is done by developing an analytic procedure for constructing a hierarchy of effective actions leading to improvements in convergence of N -fold discretized many-body path integral expressions from 1/N to 1/Np for generic p. In thi...

Out-of-Time-Ordered Correlator in Many-Body Localized Systems

In many-body localized systems, propagation of information forms a light cone that grows logarithmically with time. However, local changes in energy or other conserved quantities are expected to spread only within a finite distance. Is it possible to detect the logarithmic light cone using local observables, starting from thermal states or eigenstates? Here we show that this is indeed the case,...

Drude weight fluctuations in many-body localized systems

We numerically investigate the distribution of Drude weights D of many-body states in disordered onedimensional interacting electron systems across the transition to a many-body localized phase. Drude weights are proportional to the spectral curvatures induced by magnetic fluxes in mesoscopic rings. They offer a method to relate the transition to the many-body localized phase to transport prope...

A phenomenology of certain many-body-localized systems

We consider isolated quantum systems with all of their many-body eigenstates localized. We define a sense in which such systems are integrable, and discuss a method for finding their localized conserved quantum numbers (“constants of motion”). These localized operators are interacting pseudospins and are subject to dephasing but not to dissipation, so any quantum states of these pseudospins can...
